We produce the future lawyers that the legal profession want to employ

At The University of Law, employability is at the heart of everything we do and we believe that securing meaningful work experience within practice can be an invaluable part of that.

With an established extensive mentoring scheme, a comprehensive pro bono programme and close association with the majority of the country’s leading law firms, this year we’re also adding a Work Placement Bursary Scheme to our already strong Careers and Employability services portfolio.

Invaluable work experience and £1,000 towards your University of Law course fees

We’re offering 21 Work Placement Bursaries available to anyone studying our Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL), LL.M Legal Practice Course (LL.M LPC) or Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC), commencing in September 2014.

You’ll have the opportunity to shadow senior lawyers - all of them alumni of The University of Law - in their day-to-day activity and get a genuine feel for life in practice. In addition you’ll receive a £1,000 scholarship towards your University of Law course fees.

Bursaries will be awarded to students who demonstrate aptitude and desire through a written submission. Short-listed candidates will be chosen by the lawyer they will be shadowing. The Work Placement Bursaries will take place in a range of firms from commercial to criminal, to family law and in-house counsel. One of the placements will even take place with the legal team of a Premiership football club!

To be eligible for one of the Work Placement Bursaries, you must have accepted a place on a course commencing in September 2014.
